The Ascension LDX Leadership Honors recognize leaders, organizations, and teams shaping the progression of fleet, transportation, and mobility through exceptional leadership, operational excellence, innovation, and impact. These honors elevate exemplars who deserve broader visibility while establishing new benchmarks for achievement across the industry.
LEADERSHIP IMPACT AWARD
Purpose
Distinguishes a fleet, transportation, or mobility leader whose character, vision, and professional leadership consistently drive positive outcomes for their organization, team members, and community. This honor celebrates individuals who lead with integrity, cultivate people, and create lasting influence beyond operational performance.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • A minimum of five years of leadership responsibility within fleet, transportation, mobility, or a related field. • Evidence of measurable organizational impact through operational, financial, cultural, or strategic outcomes. • Commitment to developing and mentoring others. • Meaningful contributions to industry advancement, community engagement, or workforce development. • Strong reputation for professionalism, ethics, and servant leadership.
Submission Requirements
• Leadership narrative (750 words maximum) • Professional r ésumé or biography • Two letters of recommendation • Three examples of measurable leadership outcomes or accomplishments from the previous three years
FLEET INNOVATION AWARD
Purpose
Acknowledges an organization demonstrating exceptional commitment to operational advancement through the strategic application of technology, process improvement, or creative problem-solving that enhances safety, efficiency, productivity, or financial performance.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • Successful implementation of an innovative initiative within the past three years. • Measurable improvements in operational performance. • Clear alignment between innovation and organizational objectives. • Replicable practices that may benefit the broader industry.
Submission Requirements
• Innovation summary (750 words maximum) • Description of technology, process, or initiative implemented • Before-and-after performance metrics • One supporting reference from an executive, stakeholder, or project partner
WORKFORCE EXCELLENCE AWARD
Purpose
Elevates organizations that intentionally cultivate high-performing teams through inclusive leadership, workforce development, and meaningful engagement across backgrounds, generations, roles, and experiences. This award honors fleet organizations where diverse perspectives actively shape culture, decision-making, and organizational success.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • Intentional workforce development and advancement efforts. • Evidence of employee engagement and retention strategies. • Inclusive leadership practices that encourage broad participation and contribution. • Measurable outcomes related to recruitment, development, advancement, or workplace culture.
Submission Requirements
• Organizational overview (500 words maximum) • Description of workforce development initiatives • Workforce demographic and advancement data (optional but encouraged) • One employee testimonial and one leadership endorsement • Examples of measurable workforce outcomes
FLEET COMPLIANCE DEVELOPMENT AWARD
Purpose
Commends organizations that demonstrate operational excellence through a sustained commitment to compliance, professional development, safety standards, certifications, and continuous improvement.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • Strong compliance record and commitment to regulatory excellence. • Investment in employee education, training, and professional certification. • Adoption of recognized industry standards and best practices. • Ongoing efforts to strengthen operational accountability and risk management.
Submission Requirements
• Compliance and professional development overview (750 words maximum) • List of relevant certifications, credentials, or facility recognitions • Description of workforce training investments • Documentation of compliance achievements, audits, inspections, or safety performance indicators
SUSTAINABILITY STEWARDSHIP AWARD
Purpose
Recognizes organizations advancing sustainability through initiatives that improve environmental performance while creating measurable benefits for employees, communities, and long-term operational resilience.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • Meaningful sustainability initiatives implemented within the past five years. • Measurable environmental, health, or risk-reduction outcomes. • Integration of sustainability into broader organizational strategy. • Positive impact on employees, customers, or local communities.
Submission Requirements
• Sustainability narrative (750 words maximum) • Summary of initiatives and objectives • Supporting performance metrics or impact measures • One executive or stakeholder endorsement • Examples of community or workforce benefit resulting from sustainability efforts
RISING EXECUTIVE AWARD
Purpose
Honors an emerging fleet, transportation, or mobility leader whose performance, influence, and strategic contributions signal exceptional readiness for executive leadership. This award celebrates professionals who consistently exceed expectations, elevate those around them, and demonstrate the vision, judgment, and leadership capacity required to shape the future of the industry.
Application Criteria
Applicants or nominees should demonstrate: • A minimum of three years of leadership responsibility within fleet, transportation, mobility, logistics, public works, or a related field. • Current service in a management, supervisory, project leadership, or director-level role. • Evidence of measurable organizational impact through operational improvements, workforce development, financial stewardship, innovation, or strategic initiatives. • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning. • Active engagement in industry, community, or workforce development efforts. • Clear indicators of executive leadership potential.
Submission Requirements
• Professional biography or résumé. • Leadership statement (750 words maximum) describing career progression, leadership philosophy, and future aspirations. • Description of two significant initiatives or accomplishments completed within the past three years. • One letter of recommendation from a supervisor, executive, customer, elected official, board member, or industry peer. • One example of mentorship, team development, or community engagement
Eligibility Requirements
Pertinent to all awards:
• Open to fleet operators, mobility organizations, public agencies, utility fleets, public works fleets, and private-sector organizations. • Self-nominations and third-party nominations accepted. • Applicants must be in good standing within their organization and industry. • Supporting documentation must reflect accomplishments achieved within the previous three years unless otherwise noted. • Current Black Fleet Network® Board Members and Partners are ineligible for application or nomination.
